Westlake Plastics ABS Plate and Cass Polymers Tooling Plank

Modern Plastics is now stocking affordable prototyping materials such as Westlake Plastics ABS Plate and Cass Polymers Tooling Plank in a wide variety of thicknesses and standard sheet sizes. ABS brings value to the customer as a low cost, easily fabricated prototype material; it can be routed, sawed, drilled, milled or turned using standard machine tools. It can also be painted, glued and welded with relative ease. Applications include structural components, supports blocks, housings and covers. ABS is available from Modern Plastics in an FDA compliant grade, as well as a Flame Retardant grade in natural and black colors. We stock 48� x 96� sheets up to 6� inches thick as well as rods up to 8� diameter.

Tooling Plank is used when machining large scale prototype parts, models, test fixtures, patterns, and prototype tools that require excellent edge definition and light weight. Tooling plank also machines and bonds very easily; our customers have bonded planks one on top of another to produce massive 12� - 24� thicknesses! Standard sizes are available in 16� x 60� planks ranging from 1� to 6� thick.

Absylux® (ABS)

Modern Plastics offers Absylux®, a low cost engineering plastic that is easy to machine and fabricate. Absylux® is an ideal material for structural applications when impact resistance, strength, and stiffness are required. It is widely used for machining pre-production prototypes since it has excellent dimensional stability and is easy to paint and glue. Natural (beige) and black Absylux® are FDA compliant for use in food processing applications. The applications of Absylux® ABS include machined prototypes, structural components, support blocks, housings, and covers.

Die Plank® DP-1051

Modern Plastics offers Die Plank® DP-1051, an aluminum filled urethane Tooling Plank specifically developed as a lightweight, tough, and cost effective alternative to aluminum for abrasion-resistant applications such as checking and assembly fixtures that experience abusive production environments.

DP-1051 is a dimensionally stable material with superior machining characteristics used to produce fast and accurate checking fixtures, holding fixtures, and many other types of tooling including vacuum-form tools, low-volume foundry patterns, temporary models, and headliner tools.

Pattern Plank® PP-1052

Modern Plastics offers Pattern Plank® PP-1052 which is a dense, filled urethane Tooling Plank. This plank is a light-weight, tough, cost effective alternative to metal. Its tough, high-impact resistant properties will produce dimensionally stable tools. Applications include prototype and low-volume to high volume foundry patterns, core boxes, match plates, gating and risering. Other uses include metal forming, hammer forming, stretch press dies, hemming buchs and production checking and assembly fixtures.

CNC Chocolate Model Plank® M-1055

Modern Plastics offers a complete line of CNC Tooling Planks® for Master Models, Patterns, Fixtures, Jigs, Metal-Forming, Nickel Plating, tretch Press, Autoclave, Vacuum-Forming and other Rapid Tooling Applications.

M-1055 Chocolate Model Plank® is a dimensionally stable material designed to fulfill the need for master models and prototype foundry patterns.
