KETRON® PEEK GF30 - 30% Glass Reinforced (Polyetheretherketone), extruded (Victrex® 450G PEEK™ resin)-manufactured by Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products is a 30% Glass Reinforced PEEK™ product that significantly reduces the expansion rate and increases the flexural modulus of PEEK™. KETRON PEEK™ GF30 - 30% Glass Reinforced offers steam and wear resistance and can be used continuously to 480°F (250°C) in hot water or steam without permanent loss in physical properties. For hostile environments, KETRON PEEK™ GF30 - 30% Glass Reinforced is a high strength alternative to fluoropolymers. KETRON PEEK™ GF30 - 30% Glass Reinforced carries a V-O flammability rating and exhibits very low smoke and toxic gas emission when exposed to flame. Other attributes of KETRON® PEEK F30 - 30% Glass Reinforced products include:- Very low moisture absorption
- Excellent chemical resistance
- Ideal for structural applications
- Excellent stiffness and stability
- High temperature properties
- Unaffected by continuous exposure to hot water or steam
Engineering specifications for KETRON® PEEK F30 - 30% Glass Reinforced Rod are: - Tensile Strength: 15,000 psi
- Compressive Strength: 26,000 psi
- Water Absorption (saturation): 0.1%
- Continuous Service Temperature in air: 480°F degrees (without load)
- Resistant to weak Acids, weak Alkalies, Ketones, Ethers, Esters (acetone), Hydrocarbons, Chlorinated solvents, Alcohols, inorganic salt solutions
- Flammability rating: UL94:V-O
Engineering Notes:The stiffness of all PEEK™ grades drops off significantly and expansion rate increases above its glass transition temperature (Tg) of 300°F (150°C). A material like Torlon® PAI would be better suited for close tolerance bearings or seals operating at temperatures higher than 300°F (150°C).
