Tecason™ P XRO
Tecason™ P XRO are thermoplastic shapes that have a radio opacifer added to the standard line of colored PPSU extruded rod for orthopedic sizing trials an other instrument devices allowing for clear visibility of the component on fluoroscopy and xray. The increasing number of minimally invasive and image guided surgical procedures have brought new challenges to the healthcare industry; Tecason™ P XRO can accomodate these new challenges.Modern Plastics offers Tecason P™ XRO, the new line of xray opaque, XRO series of thermoplastic shapes. A radio opacifer is added to instrument devices to allow for clear visibility of the component on fluoroscopy and xray. This visibilty accomodates some of the new challenges created by minimally invasive and image guided surgery, which is an added benefit to the user, allowing for more precise movement and placement.
Tecason P™ XRO has been tested to the requirements of ISO 10993 for external communication devices intended for less than 24 hour contact with tissue, bone, and dentin.

Tecaform MT
Modern Plastics offers Tecaform™ MT (Celcon®) Rod and Sheet (Acetal Copolymer) as supplied by Ensinger-Hyde, a semi-crystaline thermoplastic engineering material with high strength and rigidity, easily machined, suitable for medical and food technology. The material is physiologically harmless and FDA compliant.

Tecapeek Classix
Modern Plastics offers Tecapeek Classix™ Rod as supplied by Ensinger-Hyde, an ultra-high performance biocompatible thermoplastic, the mechanical properties of which are comparable with those of Tecapeek™ and Tecapeek MT™. Polyaryletherketone belongs to the group of polymers which have the best chemical resistance and bio-compatibility. It shows a particularly good combination of strength, rigidity, toughness and hardness, which proves ideal for medicinal-technical applications.
The polymer can be processed and shaped using customary processes, such as injection moulding, extrusion, machining and compression moulding. This gives manufacturers of medical products and applications wide-ranging flexibility in design and manufacture.

- Extremely good chemical resistance
- Mechanical strength
- Dimensional stability
- Excellent abrasion and impact strength
- Can be frequently and repeatedly sterilized with conventional methods (hot steam, gamma radiation, plasma and ethylene oxide) without interfering with the mechanical properties
- Extreme resistance to hydrolysis, even at high temperatures
- Can be produced as thin wall tubes
- Standard color is currently creamy-white, further colors and modifications upon request
