TEMPALUX® Ultem® 5000 PEI (polyetherimid), Extruded Sheet-as manufactured by Westlake Plastics is is an amorphous polymer offering high strength and excellent flame and heat resistance. It performs at higher temperatures than standard ULTEM® 1000, making it ideal for high strength/high heat applications, and those requiring consistent dielectric properties over wide frequency. It is hydrolysis resistant, highly resistant to acidic solutions and capable of withstanding multiple autoclaving cycles. Ultem® 5000 is FDA compliant. Ultem is commonly machined into parts for reusable medical devices, analytical instrumentation, electrical/electronic insulators and a variety of structural components requiring high strength and rigidity at elevated temperatures. Ultem® resin is manufactured by GE Plastics -Modern Plastics is a GE Technical Solutions Network Member (TSN), and has vast technical expertise of GE Plastics materials.
